If You Forget To Use It
If you forget a dose, use it as soon as you remember. But if you remember your missed dose at the time of your next dose, do not use an extra dose.
Do not use a double dose to make up for the missed dose. This may increase the chance of you getting an unwanted side effect.
Then go back to using the cream as you would normally.
Why Is Bioidentical Estrogen Cream Better
Bioidentical estrogen is superior and safer than synthetic hormones because is derived from plants and has a molecular structure that is similar to the hormones your body naturally secretes.
Ehab Mekhail, pharmacist and owner of Peoples Choice Compounding Pharmacy in Richmond Hill, explains, We use a custom dosage of natural, bioidentical estrogen in the creams and medications we make. Popular commercially available estrogen creams often use synthetic or estrogen derived from pregnant mares. However, recent research supports the use of bioidentical hormones as safer.
How Do I Know If Estrogen Cream Is Right For Me
If you suffer from vaginal dryness or irritation, or other symptoms of early menopause, begin by having your hormones tested to determine if low estrogen levels are indeed the issue. If that is the case, working in tandem with your doctor and pharmacist, a low dosage estrogen treatment can be prescribed to bring you back to your best.

Do Bioidentical Hormones Really Work
Yes, they work for some people. You will have different results depending on your symptoms and health history. Talk with your healthcare provider about bioidentical hormones and what form may work best for you. In some cases, your healthcare provider may recommend against using bioidentical hormones in favor of a more traditional hormone replacement therapy option.
Potential Uses Of Estriol

Drugs that contain estriol are compounded drugs, which are not FDA-approved.
A compounded pharmacy prepares medications individually for each person, not in high volume like most commercial drugs. Compounded drugs for menopausal symptoms are often mixes of multiple hormones.
There are many different hormones in the body, but all of them function as chemical messengers. In some cases, you may be acutely aware of hormonal changes. In others, it may be less obvious to you that hormones are playing a role in how you feel and what you’re experiencing.
In the case of estriol, more research into its potential uses and to evaluate safety and efficacy are needed.

How Do Estrogen Derivatives Work
Estrogen derivatives are medications used in the prevention and treatment of menopausal symptoms and various conditions associated with menopause, such as vaginal dryness and bone loss . Estrogen derivatives are also used in the treatment of breast and prostate cancers.
Estrogens are a group of natural endogenous hormones in women and are present in smaller quantities in men. Estrogens are the primary hormones responsible for the development and maintenance of the femalereproductive system and secondary sexual characteristics. Estrogens also play an important role in male sexual function.
Estrogen derivatives supplement the deficiency in natural estrogens which get depleted with menopause in women. Estrogen derivatives relieve menopausal symptoms, prevent bone loss, and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease in menopausal women.
Endogenous estrogens are of three major types, estradiol, estriol, and estrone. Estrogen derivatives are purified formulations of different types of estrogens derived from natural estrogens from pregnant mares or synthetic estrogen preparations. Estrogen derivatives bind to estrogen receptors in cells and have effects similar to estrogen.
Estrogen derivatives work by reducing elevated levels of reproductive hormones in postmenopausal women, which include gonadotropin-releasing hormone from the hypothalamus, and follicular stimulating hormone , and luteinizing hormone from the pituitary gland.

What Are The Side Effects Of Bioidentical Hormones
When the FDA approves a drug, the drug company must report any side effects they are told about. These side effects are included in the paperwork you get when you pick your medication up at the pharmacy. Pharmacies that compound hormones do not have to report drug side effects to the FDA or provide paperwork. This contributes to the myth that compounded hormones are safer when healthcare providers don’t know all of the possible side effects of these hormones.
Side effects can occur, especially after the first dose. Your body is not used to the new level of hormones. Many side effects get better as the body adjusts to the new level of hormones. In some cases, the dose may need to be changed.
Some common side effects of bioidentical hormones include:
You may itch or get red around the area where you apply your hormones if you use a patch, cream or gel.

What Is Topical Testosterone

Testosterone is a typically male hormone thats mainly produced in the testicles. It helps the male body develop sex organs, sperm, and sex drive.
The hormone also helps maintain male features such as muscle strength and mass, facial and body hair, and a deepened voice. Your testosterone levels typically peak in early adulthood and slowly decrease with age.
Topical testosterone is a prescription drug thats applied to your skin. Its used to treat hypogonadism, a condition of having low testosterone that can be caused by Klinefelters syndrome, primary testicular failure, or undescended testicles among other conditions.
The Food and Drug Administration has approved topical testosterone in gel form. However, some people prefer compounded testosterone creams , because they find them easier to use and less likely to be transferred by touch. Otherwise, the effects of gels vs. creams are not very different.
There are several different types of topical testosterone that are available. Here are some of the most common types:

How To Get Biest From Your Doctor
In order to get biest, you will need a prescription from a physician .
Most conventional doctors, such as family practice doctors or endocrinologists, may not be familiar with using biest or other bio-identical hormones.
The reason for this has to do with the fact that hormone replacement is not taught in medical school.
So, in order for a physician to be knowledgeable on the subject, they usually have to take extra classes or courses to help bring them up to speed.
The logic and theory behind bio-identical hormone use are also vastly different from the conventional hormone replacement therapy model that standard physicians use.
Conventional doctors dont have a problem giving out massive doses of insulin, birth control, or steroids, but they seem to have a problem when it comes to bio-identical hormones.
Much of this simply has to do with the fact that they are not educated on the topic.
Its my experience that most physicians when they see how effective these hormones can be, and when they are confronted with the studies that show they are effective , they tend to be willing to give them a try.
But having this discussion is generally not worth your time or effort when you can find a physician who specializes in hormone replacement therapy relatively easily.
If you are interested make sure you look for a doctor that specializes in Integrative medicine, anti-aging medicine, or functional medicine.

Dhea Vaginal Suppository Good Alternative To Estrogen Creams
By Andrew M. Seaman, Reuters Health
4 Min Read
– A vaginal suppository containing the hormone known as DHEA is a good alternative to estrogen for treating vaginal issues related to menopause, according to a new trial.
Pain during sex and vaginal dryness improved more in postmenopausal women taking the daily suppositories than in women using placebos, researchers report. Gynecologists said the overall vaginal health of those taking the suppositories improved more, too.
Estrogen cream can be prescribed to replace the hormones, but that may not be an option or choice for some women, according to Dr. James Woods, who is past chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine in New York.
For example, breast cancer is sometimes driven by estrogen, and women with those cancers take drugs to block their body from making the hormone. They also cant risk increasing the amount of estrogen circulating in their bodies.
For people who cant take estrogen into their system, this is a huge advantage for them, because it brings them back to more of a normal life, said Woods, who was not involved with the new trial.
This has been such a positive contribution for the breast cancer patients, said Woods, who added that doctors currently prescribe a compounded DHEA cream to patients.
The women using DHEA also reported a significantly larger decrease in pain during sex, compared to women taking the placebo.

How Should This Medicine Be Used
Topical estradiol comes as a gel, a spray, and an emulsion to apply to the skin. It is usually applied once a day. Estradiol emulsion should be applied in the morning. Estradiol gel may be applied at any time of day, but should be applied at around the same time of day every day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Use topical estradiol exactly as directed. Do not use more or less of it or use it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
If you are using estradiol gel, you should apply it in a thin layer to one arm, from the wrist to the shoulder. If you are using estradiol emulsion, you should apply it to both thighs and calves . Do not apply estradiol gel or emulsion to your breasts. Be sure that the skin where you will apply topical estradiol is clean and completely dry, and is not red, irritated, or broken.
If you take a bath or a shower or use a sauna, apply topical estradiol after you have finished bathing, showering or using the sauna and have dried your skin completely. If you plan to swim, allow as much time as possible between applying estradiol gel and swimming. Do not apply sunscreen shortly before, at the same time, or soon after you apply topical estradiol.
Estradiol gel may catch fire. When you apply estradiol gel, do not smoke or go near a fire or open flame until the gel dries.
